PowerBook Photos Available

Photos of the PowerBook are now available. These photos correspond to my recent review of the laptop.

This is the first photo album I’ve put online using the Apple iPhoto software rather than the (very unfortunately) Windows-only Picasa. iPhoto itself is pretty nice and offers elegance and simplicity much like Picasa, but isn’t quite as powerful. If you like the iLife software suite, iPhoto fits right in with album management that feels just like iTunes playlist management. I do like this way of handling albums. However, I miss Picasa’s more powerful editing tools and its XML export feature. I guess this is a good chance to learn a Unix-friendly scripting language to automate the XML generation :-)

i’ve wrote a perl script that generates an xml doc based on an iphoto webpage export using the picasa xml format so you can still use your old code.
